Coach Stores Decoded: Landmark Flagships, Regular Boutiques and What Awaits You

Going by Tapestry’s annual report, Coach had 973 directly operated stores when its 2026 fiscal year ended on 27 June 2026. The split is 336 stores in North America and 637 across international markets. A figure of about 1,299 stores is also quoted, but that number spans all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. For the year ahead, Tapestry has reportedly said that around 50 net new Coach stores are in the pipeline for fiscal 2027, with roughly three quarters of them sited beyond North America. Within that network are flagship Coach House locations, regular full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. A shopper looking for a coach store may therefore find anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Going city by city, this guide looks at the most thoroughly documented locations and marks where a store’s current status has yet to be confirmed.

Location Store type Current status in September 2026 Good to know
New York, 685 Fifth Avenue Coach House flagship Opened 2016; move to 645 Fifth Avenue pencilled in for 2027 Use the store finder before you visit
London, 200–206 Regent Street Coach House flagship Launched in 2016 Craftsmanship Bar reported
Tokyo, Ginza Flagship Reported to have reopened in December 2025 First Japanese flagship dates from 2002
Shanghai, Huai Hai Middle Road Flagship opened 2010 Current status not verified Treat older coverage with caution
Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks, Ashford Coach Outlet Verified York Designer Outlet reported but designer handbags unconfirmed

New York and the Fifth Avenue Coach House

Set up in New York in 1941, Coach keeps its most famous flagship in its home city. Opened in the fall of 2016, the Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was timed for the brand’s 75th anniversary. It was reported at about 20,000 square feet across three floors, created with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. That address is not a permanent base, however, because Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House. Coach has pencilled in 2027 for the intended move, while David Yurman is reported to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is due to open there in early 2029. Check Coach’s store locator before a dedicated journey, as it has not been confirmed whether the current store is still trading on a given day. The locator also includes a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards, near Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.

London and the Regent Street Coach House

London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street and opened its doors in 2016 as a global concept store. Studio Sofield also worked on the London store, lending it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar offering monogramming and personalisation was reported in coverage at the time. Reports also mentioned a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly need around 12 weeks, rising to about 16 weeks with exotic skins. Some writers have given the wrong opening year because one retail-district listing carries a much later page date. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry stated that the UK, together with some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has a material presence, according to a published transcript. If you intend to book a personalisation appointment, check which services are currently offered before visiting.

Tokyo and Ginza

Tokyo’s Ginza district is home to Coach’s flagship in Japan. The first Japanese flagship launched there in 2002, and the store was refreshed in 2015. It reopened on 19 December 2025 after a redesign by the studio CURIOSITY, according to reports of the relaunch. Select Japanese stores reportedly are part of the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange, which makes Japan significant for services too. Outlet items and canvas styles are reportedly ruled out, whereas the scheme accepts gently worn all-leather retail bags. Which Japanese stores participate was not confirmed, so ask the store before bringing a bag along. Hours and services are best checked shortly before a visit, just as with every flagship in this guide.

Greater China: An Old Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing

Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less well recorded than the flagships in New York or London. A record that is now dated states that a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened its doors on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Do not assume the Shanghai store is open today, as its current status could not be verified. Coach has also been reported to operate a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. The dates on which those two stores opened could not be verified either. International stores make up 637 of Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, but the annual report figure is not a list by city. Dated press coverage is no substitute for Coach’s local store locator, so visitors should rely on the locator when planning a visit.

UK Boutiques and Concessions

Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator includes full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. Other London locations take in St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. Beyond London, the documented full-price store is at the Bullring in Birmingham. Concession spaces inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted, also sell Coach. Stores in Manchester, Edinburgh and other cities were not confirmed, so check before presuming a local branch exists. This list covers the documented full-price options at the time of writing for anyone looking up coach uk locations. Coach’s UK website provides each listed store its own page, making it the most reliable place to confirm hours and services.

Shopping at Coach Outlet Stores

Coach’s store locator lists Coach Outlet stores as outlets, and they are part of Coach’s own network and are not run by independent discounters. Outlet shopping centres are the usual home for these stores, and Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common in the United States. In the UK, Coach Outlet stores are confirmed to trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. A store at York Designer Outlet has been reported but not confirmed, so verify before heading there. A share of the stock in outlet stores is made for the outlet channel, yet today’s mix is unknown, because the only share figure found, around 85%, goes back to 2014. Under the reported “One Coach” strategy, the ranges on offer also take in some full-price collection product, alongside earlier-season styles. Before a coach outlet trip, review the current offers: promotions change, and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.

What You Will Find Inside a Coach Store

The typical full-price coach store centres on the current handbag range, and also carries small leather goods, clothing and shoes. The Tabby was introduced in 2019, the Brooklyn in August 2024 and the Empire Carryall arrived in February 2025, and the three rank among the recognisable bag families in 2026. Spotted US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450, but these are figures seen in the market rather than an official price list. The (Re)Loved trade-in is offered in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores, meaning participation depends on the store. One membership works across both formats, as Coach Insider, the free loyalty programme, reportedly covers both Coach and Coach Outlet. Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, which makes a receipt from a Coach store helpful evidence of where a coach bag came from. Creative direction is in the hands of Stuart Vevers, whose appointment was announced in June 2013 and who continues as Creative Director in 2026.

Planning Your Visit

A little preparation saves wasted journeys, especially while the New York flagship gets ready for its planned move. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it sets apart full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. For anyone wanting a trade-in, confirm that the store in question is participating and that your bag is all leather and not canvas. For personalisation or made-to-order services, ask beforehand whether the service is running. There is no VAT refund to plan around as a visitor to Britain, as tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended on 1 January 2021. Every receipt records where a bag was bought if questions come up later, so keep every one. Look up current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.

  • Consult the store locator on the day of travel.
  • Confirm participation and eligibility for a trade-in.
  • Plan ahead for personalisation services.
  • Keep receipts for every purchase.
